Physical Activity

Physical activity plays an important role in everyday life at Cloughfin National School. As well as timetabled PE lessons, we encourage children to stay active throughout the school day through initiatives such as Active Walkways and playground activities.

This year, we also worked to make our playground more inviting and engaging by introducing new resources and equipment. Our Playground Leaders have played an important role in encouraging active play and helping younger pupils get involved in games and activities during break times.

We also completed a fun and challenging “Skip Around the World” challenge, which encouraged pupils to stay active while working together towards a shared goal.

Active Break Every Day Challenge:

All children participated in a four week Croke Park Movement Break Challenge. In this activity, the children saw the different areas of Croke Park, giving all classess a behind the scene look at where the team buses arrive, inside the players' dressing room and the warm-up areas where the players get ready. The children also learned some interesting facts about Croke Park.
