We are proud to work closely with local clubs and organisations to promote physical activity within our school and the wider community. 

Donegal Sports Partnership

Throughout the year, pupils participated in a range of activities organised by Donegal Sports Partnership, including Sports Hall Athletics competitions.As this was our first time entering a Sports Hall Athletics competition at Finn Valley Centre. We were delighted to receive training and support from Donegal Sports Partnership throughout the preparation process. They worked closely with the pupils to train for the different events, including relays, running, standing long jump, ball throwing, speed bounce, and vertical jumping. Their guidance helped pupils develop new skills, build confidence, and gain a better understanding of the competition events. The experience was extremely positive for everyone involved and encouraged great teamwork, participation, and enjoyment among the pupils. They also supported our school during Active School Week by supplying us with lots of outdoor equipment.

 

Parents

At the beginning of the year, we informed our parents and guardians about the Active School Initatives and welcomed their encouragement and support.
They are kept up to date through our facebook page and school noticeboard.

Cycling Ireland

Our school participates in the Cycling Road Safety Training Programme. cycleright.ie

Naomh Pádraig, Lifford and Donegal County Board

During the year, children from all classes receive football training from a coach from Naomh Pádraig club in Lifford and from a coach from the 
Donegal County Board.

Families and Community

On the 19th of September, our school organised a 5k walk/run in conjunction with Paul Smyth, Inclusive Fitness. It was a huge event, supported by our local community and businesses. We had a huge turnout with lots of spot prizes and refreshments afterwards.
 

 

Deele Harps

We have strong links with our neighbouring football club Deele Harps. They support our 5K and have made their pitch available to us for training and sports days.
