Marian Harkin (M.E.P.) visits Cloughfin N.S.

Students in the Senior Room have been learning about Europe for the past few weeks. We invited Marian Harkin who is a member of the European Parliament (M.E.P.) to visit our school and happliy, she obliged. Marian, who is a former secondary school teacher herself, arrived at 9.30 and stayed til after 11.00. She told the pupils about the work that is done in the parliament in Brussels and also answered the many questions that pupils had for her! She travelled from Sligo this morning and headed to a meeting in Mullingar after she left us before flying from Dublin to Brussels tonight. A busy lady, so we thank her for making time for us!
